I am often asked if life is a fixed point on a map of existence. No, it is not. “Life evolves with purpose.”
Purpose is not a job title, a relationship, or an attractively packaged mission statement. It is the pulse beneath our skin. Purpose is the whisper that wakes us in the middle of the night. It is the ache we feel when we know we are meant for more, but cannot identify what “more” is.
Purpose is movement. It is our desire to express ourselves fully, without distinction. Purpose is not found; it is remembered. We were born with it etched in our bones, but the world taught us to forget its origins. We became trained to not only substitute authenticity for approval, but to silence our knowledge for comfort. In doing so, we shrink so that others would not be threatened.
A life objective is not something that we chase, but allow. It rewards itself when we stop performing and start listening. It emerges when we follow the thread of what makes us feel alive, even when it terrifies us. All of us inherently seek expansion regarding our reason for living and, truthfully, that requires risk.
As a result, wisely avoid waiting for clarity, permission, or perfection. Simply plot your course with purpose. Life’s meaning is not at the finish line at the end of the path. It is the path. We should venture ahead with trembling feet and a fierce heart.
Finally, “life evolves with purpose” with this intentional role: Take comfort, for we are never lost. We are simply unfolding.
