When examining the resentment and ill will that surround my world, I have one safe strategy. I try to select a time when I can temporarily separate what I perceive as authentic from what others have created. Personally, these are incredibly unique moments that are exceptional in their makeup, but bring caution to my thoughts.
When my life requires that I deal with consistent chaos and confusion, I become rudderless. I face an altered reality with the power to create alternative perceptions. Unfortunately, these moments encourage some to consider cruelty and anger in both words and actions. They also corrode all forms of empathy.
Naturally, most people want disruptive life issues to be settled, different, and immediate. To do so requires more than a primal emotional response. Complex personal changes involve the absolute power to unearth the best versions of ourselves. To expose that edition of oneself is a challenging task.
My private thoughts include the following: Managing ongoing chaos requires embracing self-awareness and unconventional approaches to understanding life’s complexities. When the environments we occupy become complicated and unyielding with falsehoods, we question everything. Our compassionate nature is not aligned with our true temperament. Our thoughts and feelings rupture under communal pressure.
When confronted with life’s uncertainties, I must be accountable for my role in that debate. Initially, by questioning my personal contributions, I begin to identify whether my individual interpretation of what is truthful has been conceded. Ultimately, seeking balance within what is being said steers a retreat toward my comfort zones. The net result: My confusion regarding the chaos continues.
Despite the above trappings, I find that with hope and open-mindedness, I transform daily inaccuracies and disorder into opportunities to develop optimistic ideas. I embrace uncertainty by actively searching for meaningful personal lessons. With the knowledge that turmoil can be invalidated with fresh awareness, my approach to empathy slowly returns.
The process of seeking internal empathy and collective healing always starts with the shared understanding of both. When we feel powerless and judged, it is our ability to adopt unconventional tools of reason to navigate all the falsehoods that are tossed our way.
Oddly, upheaval does have constructive benefits. It has the separating power to foster new relationships with exceptional people, with viewpoints based on compassion, not deceit.
I strive for compelling perspectives that commit to being healthier, effective, and ethical. To that end, I look for the best version of myself and align with the communal energy necessary to offset life’s shared chaos.
To simply “suck it up” is not a rectifiable stance in facing our private struggles. Personal and intimate compassion is what eventually tilts the scales in our favor and reestablishes our empathy.
